Questions
Where does the data come from?
From building permit records that cities and counties publish on their open data portals. We collect them every day, sort them by trade and value, and remove small residential jobs. Each source is listed on our Data sources page.
How often is it updated?
Every day. Most cities publish new permits within a day or two of issue; a few publish weekly.
Do leads include contact details?
Members see the full address, the contractor and owner when the city lists them, and a phone number when the public record has one. Today the contractor is named on about half of commercial permits and a phone is listed on about 1 in 8. We never guess or make up emails or phone numbers.
What does the free trial include?
14 days, card required, one trial per person or company. During the trial you get 1 city and 1 trade, up to 100 spreadsheet rows a day, and no API access. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel online from Manage billing in your account. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you've paid for.
Which cities do you cover?
See Browse for the current list of cities and counties. We add new ones as cities publish usable data.
What's in the spreadsheet?
A formatted Excel file (and CSV) with issue date, city, address, work description, trade, value, contractor, phone when listed, owner, permit number and a link to the city record.
